COUPLES WORKRelationship conflict often feels like it’s about the present—but it’s usually rooted in past emotional wounds. These may be attachment injuries from childhood or unresolved pain within the relationship itself. When left unhealed, these wounds can get triggered during stress, leading to reactivity, distance, or shutdown.
EMDR helps couples uncover and process the deeper emotional patterns beneath conflict. It gets to the root—beyond what’s said in the moment—by addressing beliefs like “I’m not safe,” “I’ll be abandoned,” or “I don’t matter.” These unconscious narratives, often formed long before the relationship began, shape how partners relate and react.
By healing at this deeper level, EMDR fosters not just individual growth, but lasting reconnection. Couples become more open, less reactive, and more able to respond to each other with empathy. It’s a powerful shift—moving beyond surface skills into deeper, more sustainable change in how we love, relate,
and heal.
